PREP PROGRAM IN GEORGIA: CHALLENGES, ACHIEVEMENTS & BARRIERS TO ACCESSING PREP FOR MSM AND TRANS WOMEN

In 2017 Georgia became the first country in the region that started pilot program for PrEP. Since then Equality Movement and Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center are the two entities in the country who have been managing the ongoing PrEP program. At first the target group of the program has been MSM and Trans populations. In 2019 other key affected populations became also eligible to get involved in PrEP program.

Speaker will focus on social challenges PrEP program faces in Georgia. He will also speak about the protocol community-based NGOs and clinical centers use in Georgia.
