Dr. Otilia Mardh
Otilia Mårdh is a medical epidemiologist that works for ECDC since 2011 as a scientific officer for HIV/STI and hepatitis. She has coordinated the development of the ECDC Chlamydia control in Europe guidance (2015) and the ECDC Guidance on Antenatal screening for infections (2017). Several other projects in the area of HIV/STI prevention and control are: a comprehensive approach to HIV/STI prevention in the context of sexual health, STI and HIV prevention in men having sex with men in Europe, ECDC technical report on syphilis and congenital syphilis epidemiology and options for response. She has been involved in the development of ECDC recommendations for prevention sexual transmission of Zika virus infection. Recent work includes an analysis of the HIV infections among women in Europe, an analysis of mortality data attributable to hepatitis B and C and the update of the ECDC/EMCDDA PWID guidance. Otilia also contributes to the epidemic intelligence and response activities at ECDC that aim at early detection and assessment of threats for human health in EU/EEA and has co-authored several of the ECDC rapid risk assessments.Chair to session(s)
